WHAT KIND OF GUESTS WILL STAY IN THE HOTEL AT PAJE, ZANZIBAR? ONLY KITESURFERS?
In our KiteActive guesthouse we will give a warm welcome to everybody who want’s to enjoy his time in Zanzibar. The guesthouse is surely not a house for only kitesurfers. Everybody in our guesthouse is relaxed and want to enjoy his time in paradise. Our positive crew will make sure you have a pleasant stay in our house. WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO DO IN PAJE?
There is a lot to do in Paje. We have a dive center in front of our guesthouse, kite centers, volleyball fields, lots of local bars and restaurants. There are also trips every day to the reef for wave surfing. There are also a lot of excursions which you can plan day to day. More information about tours and trips check here for more info.

WHY IS PAJE PERFECT FOR KITESURFING?
Because there a few months per year that there is almost every day wind! Paje beach is known as the best kitespot on the island. It got the most beautiful beaches, lots of space, crystal blue water and an nice reef with clean waves. The spot is also perfect because there are not a lot of sea urgings, sea weed and coral as on the rest of the island.

IS THERE AN CAR/MOTORBIKE RENTAL IN PAJE?
Yes, You can rent a car for +- $ 40 a day and a motorbike for $ 30 a day. We don’t recommend driving on the island! They drive on the left side of the road and have an really aggressive driving style! And with the local police you will spend al lot of time they will try to hassle you for the smallest things.

IS THERE BEER IN ZANZIBAR? AND WHAT IS THE PRICE FOR A BEER?
Yes for sure there is! There are 2 kinds of beer: The Kilimanjaro and the Safari. You pay around € 1,50 till € 2,50 for 0.5 liter in the local bars around Paje.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PREPARE BEFORE LEAVING TO ZANZIBAR?
Make sure you’ve got all your vaccinations ready at your local doctor. When you come from Europe you don’t need a Yellow fever vaccine. When you first traveled along Africa, Yellow fever vaccine is required. In Pajé there is almost no Malaria because you are close to the Indian sea and there is always wind. When you planning a safari in the mainland or trips to Stonetown malaria pills are recommended.

WHAT KIND OF CURRENCY YOU USE IN ZANZIBAR? WHERE ARE THE CASH MACHINES ON THE ISLAND?
The main currency on the island and in Tanzania is Tanzanian Shilling. But you can also pay everything with dollars. The only place on the island where you can take
cash is in Stonetown!

DO I NEED A VISA FOR ZANZIBAR?
Yes you do. You can buy the visa at the airport in Dar es Salaam or Zanzibar for $ 50,-. Make sure you have enough dollars before you enter the airport in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar, that will saves you lots of time!

HOW MUCH IS A TAXI FROM DAR ES SALAAM TO THE FERRY? AND HOW MUCH IS A FERRY TO ZANZIBAR? AND HOW MUCH FROM STONETOWN TO PAJE?
A taxi from Dar es Salaam to the ferry to Stonetown will cost you about +- $ 30,-. The ferry to Stone town, the main capital of the island costs $ 35,- and you can buy the tickets at the harbor before leaving. The fast ferry will take +- 2,5 hours. From Stonetown to Paje it’s a 1 hour drive and is around 50$
